The Visitor Experience Manager is responsible for the research, design, promotion and delivery of Museum programmes, exhibitions and related activities.

The main responsibilities of this role include:- Leading your team in the creation and execution of national museum standard public programmes;
- Creating and managing an optimal and educational visitor experience on-site and through digital means;
- Driving new exhibition initiatives and displays;
- Ensuring consistently high standards in visitor experience, programming, safety, and security; and
- Engage regularly with key stakeholders and visitors.
Along with considerable experience team leadership experience managing, motivating and empowering others, you will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Developing and leading exciting public or visitor programmes;
- Experience within a heritage museum, gallery or similar environment;
- Experience managing the delivery of EOTC educational programmes or similar;
- Conceiving and directing the development of events, exhibitions and experiences that integrate new technologies, materials, and trends;
- Experience in customer feedback and public visitor analysis; and
- Confident communication, influencing and relationship management skills.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:
Low level Security Clearance
- most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
