The Buyer role is responsible for establishing and maintaining the production master schedule for multiple production facilities in order to meet our demand requirements and maintain inventory levels to meet customer service targets. What You’ll Do for Us
Supports and manages category strategies with excellence including optimization of supply base, enhancing the competition among suppliers, introducing a new supplier selection process by evolving the category to meet the needs of tomorrow.
Establishes a strong ROI methodology with finance and marketing to enable the best partners to work together in the best ways.
Develops strong collaboration with Finance and Marketing to ensure knowledge of and a proactive approach to budget timeline and planning in order to support the input for Zero Based Budgeting.
Enables the delivery of performance management including bi-annual agency reviews and relationship management conversations with The-Coca-Cola Company strategic partners.
Collaborates with other business units and other parts of the Coca-Cola System to identify and execute on opportunities.
Delivers and executes sales opportunities for imports within the region, as well as delivers annual planning for import opportunities across region and works closely with regions/bottlers/key retailers to drive sales of prioritized products/categories.
Supports Bottlers for any ad hoc customer driven imported product request.
Works with Finance, Marketing and Bottlers for value chain and works with Marketing to support Bottlers on product sell-in with product story.
Procures rates and capacity to support Coca-Cola North America Regions to meet long-term and short-term transportation needs and ensure performance standards.
Responsible for annual bid regional support to identify lanes, volume, special customer requirements, lane characteristics, and plant information to ensure accuracy in bidding process.
Acts as the relationship owner for group of carriers and responsible for leading quarterly business reviews; provides guidance and support of formal performance improvement plans.
Responsible for ad hoc analysis to identify areas of opportunity to drive financial and performance improvements and act upon them.
Maintains, monitors and revises essential system planning data to ensure SAP system effectively planning future requirements.
Maintains finished goods and material inventory levels within the parameter set by inventory policy; monitoring levels and continuously adjusting future production and purchases as necessary.
Reviews historical orders and utilize software tools in order to support the operations plans and customer demand of the plant.
Synthesizes data and identify problems through operational and financial analysis in order to improve operational and financial performance.
Qualification & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field is required
3+ years of experience manufacturing plant procurement experience.
Exceptional business communication skills, including negotiations and forming coalitions to drive change are needed
Supplier Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and standards (e.g., best practices, policies) for one or more supplier industries. Ability to provide guidance to suppliers for cost improvements and to incorporate new technologies.
Contracts and Agreements: Ability to read and interpret contractual documentation. Knowledge of KO contract terms, applications and legal requirements, including the ability to manage performance to contracts and agreements. Ability to explain requirements contained in agreements.
Product/Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of products, commodities or services (e.g., ingredients, packaging, logistics services, Coca-Cola products and services) and their related industries. Knowledge of all primary and supporting industries that impact the supply chain. Ability to research markets and synthesize findings for application in decision-making process and analytical work.
Making customers (external and internal) and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships; creating and executing plans and solutions in collaboration with the customer.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, Material Resource Planning (MRP), Logility tools
Strong analytical skills and have the ability to work with mathematical concepts
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
